what can cause tablet backlight to mess up

I don't fifty-fifty know if my eyes are cheating me, or the tablet is indeed have a trouble.
(If you followed my previous topic, this is the 2d tablet I got, brand new.)

Noticed the issue in Hangouts first, with AI keyboard and dynamic screen mode.
Disabling dynamic seemed to fix the issue.

Simply yesterday I saw it over again... at least I call up.
It was only a Chrome window, and I was reading news.
The screen went from lighter to darker while I did naught with the tablet.

Anyone else seeing/having the same result?
It'south so damn abrasive.
I mean, I never had such issue on my displays on any device. That's why I call back information technology's not my optics...

I hateful, I never had such issue on my displays on whatever device. That's why I think information technology'south non my eyes...

Try turning off "Reading Mode": [Settings] -> [Device] -> [Brandish] -> [Reading Fashion = Off]
Just a thought.

This may be a silly question, only, is your brightness set to car?

Yep, did that yesterday dark equally a final resort. Didn't discover the issue happening since and then, but I will keep an eye on it.
By the way, now I have a working tablet, I'm quite satisfied. (Except this.)

I believe it happens whenever an image is shown. And so y'all will probs notice it when text takes upwards the unabridged screen and as you scroll down the page and an prototype comes into view the screen volition alter brightness.

But accept to get used it a judge. I kinda am lol.

the tablet has dynamic backlighting that i haven't seen anywhere to plow off (it'south not the screen way, i accept that fix to movie). there was a thread nigh it earlier and i think only the OP and i were able to see information technology. it's a lot subtler than other devices just when you take a dark scene the screen dims a bit, then when you have a "vivid" scene the screen increases the backlight a bit.

Well, at the moment I contacted the local consumer rights service and will attempt to use the law against the carrier.
Which basically means that they will have to refund me for both the tablet and mobile information fees.

Yeah, this provider got the best prices. And the worst customer service.
And aye I waited YEARS for this tablet to get in (I missed the original 10.1 bandwagon)... and it'due south riddled with bugs. Don't even know what to do if they do refund.
Should I buy an iPad? But that'southward dumb as a stone. A normal tablet? What'south the point in that?
So aye. Wait for the Note Pro? But who knows if it won't have the same... or even more than issues?

@madsquabbles: Nah. I disabled dynamic, set it to normal or what. Machine backlight is off ... I checked everything.
This is non a feature, but some stupid power direction or firmware issue. Not that Sammy would address either. (See the lack of 4.4 or multi-seat back up. The tablet is far from brand new.)

ps.: I don't think information technology'southward that two of you could run across it. You two had the aforementioned panel issue equally I do. (Remember, Apple likewise loves to mess up things similar this. Like their latest problem with the Retina MBPs had the burn in problem. It was the aforementioned car, just two companies were shipping the LCD panels. One was faulty, other one was perfect. I suspect the same.)

@Geordie Affy: I found this effect happening on news sites. Merely now it happened on a wall of text (information technology was a news site once again, but without whatever images.) And today, even in LectureNotes. Non that it's bad, Simply it's annoying as hell.

If everything else works, as you said, then why don't you ready this issue (not sure if information technology'due south a bug, as you call information technology).
Plow the auto brightness off, command it yourself.
Or install lux, if you're rooted, and you have much better control.

This is different. It's not auto, it's non scene manner, it's not what you recall information technology is.
Uhm... okay how can I explicate this.

If you don't have information technology, you can't guess what nosotros mean.
It's like... you are reading some text, and it goes darker, then brigher, then darker. At the very same screen, fifty-fifty if yous stop scrolling.
Then if yous got images, it can become worse.

It's terrible considering you spend like 10 seconds each time to cheque if you optics are bad or in that location is something fishy going on.
As I said it'south possible a faulty console provider or something.
Now I'm on the carrier-war. If I lose that, I'll send the tablet back to Sammy for LCD replacement/repairs.

I take seen this exact upshot and have been able to reproduce it on my friends unit as well. Open up snote.. Outset recording a voice memo and watch.. The screen flashes dim and bright. Dim and vivid.. Information technology drove me nuts.. Then I noticed.. It was actually doing it in unison with the red blinking dot of the voice memo. Then I call back it's something where there is an animated gif/pic on screen. I will exam turning off reading mode to see if that fixes information technology and report back. I think I also have mine set to dynamic

information technology's more of a gimic than anything. it's a way to heave dissimilarity numbers without any real benefit to the end user, imoh.
