My brother inlaw has two Henry 22 rifles, one of which is this one with open sights. The other has a scope. We have had a number of outings were we sat and shot these rifles all day long for fun. They are unbelievably accurate. After putting a couple of hundred rounds through each it did it did not matter if it was open sight or scope they shot where you aimed and there was no advantage. We were shooting at about 35 yards most of the time and after awhile regular targets and speed side to side flip target became no challenge but for speed. So we went to about 45 yards and nailed a 2x6 piece of lumber on a fence post and drew a black line on it about 4 inches in and began to shoot it off. This went on for the rest of the day and is now what we do after tiring of standard target each time we get together. I will be getting a henry 22 rifle and am thinking about a 30 30 as well for deer hunting but due to the economy it will have to wait awhile. My comments are that I have shot guns since I was 7 years old and I would be hard pressed to say that I have shot a better or mor accurate gun than these henry rifles. Any good hunter or marksman will be very impressed with the consistant accuracy of these rifles and if you miss it will be your own fault. Just wanted to share my experiences with these guns of which I hope to own soon. P.S. We usually go through about 1000 to 1200 rounds a outing and we are hitting what we shoot at from start to finish and when shooting the 22's it afordable. Keep shooting and check out these rifles.
